Race week is here
After years of touting NASCAR as a legitimate sport, I'm finally going to be able to view it in all it's glory.
This weekend I'll be in attendance at Michigan International Speedway to take in the GFS Marketplace 400 with my good friends Nathan Weber and Ryan Dressler. FUCK YEAH.
If anyone is still doubting the complete and utter kick-assyness of the sport, they need only view Robby Gordon and Kurt Buschs' duel at last weekend's Busch race in Watkins Glen. Now it's time for me to watch as 42 cars with 700 horses fly down the frontstretch at 180 mph plus.
Why does that sound so sweet to me? Well, to quote Talladega Nights, because I like to party.
Therefore, it is today that I declare this week to have a racing theme. Each day I'll be giving you one or two NASCAR related stories and even explain a little of its intricacies and majesty. None of which will involve Will Ferrell or John C. Reilly. That'd be cheating.
So tune up your scanners, pack up your coolers, rev up your engines and turn down your inhibitions because it's Monday August 14, 2006 and in six days...we're goin' racin'.
