Chicken Run II: Judgement Day OR How many headlines can I write with Mel Gibson movie references?

Mel was officially charged with DUI and open container yesterday. Of course, there is no law on the books that prevents people from being an anti-semetic douchepony, so he lucks out there.

The Smoking Gun reports, as most media outlets do, that Gibson could serve a maximum of 6 months in jail. Of course, that would never happen. Joe Blow of the mean streets of Guernsey county wouldn't see any jail time for a first offense DUI. We're looking at counseling for Mel, and that's what would be the norm for anyone else. However, now that it's out in the open that he COULD receive 6 months the peanut gallery will scream "preferential treatment" from the mountain tops. It's just not responsible.
